# How to Set or Update a Team Member Designation on Picktime

A team member designation helps customers understand a staff member’s role or specialization when booking online. For example, you can add a designation such as Hairdresser, Therapist, Consultant, Trainer, or Manager.

Once updated, the designation can appear with the team member’s name on your booking page, helping customers choose the right staff member for their appointment.

### Step 1: Go to Team Members

From your Picktime dashboard, click **Team Members** from the left-side menu.

### Step 2: Select the Team Member

On the Team Members page, select the team member whose designation you want to set or update.

### Step 3: Set or Update the Designation

On the **Team Details** page, go to the **Details** tab.

Find the **Designation** field and enter the team member’s designation. For example, you can add **Hairdresser** as the designation.

After updating the designation, click **Save** in the top-right corner.

Once saved, the updated designation will be added to the team member’s profile and can appear on the online booking page when customers choose a team member.

|| Note: The designation is different from the team member’s role. The designation is used to describe the team member’s job title or specialization, while the role controls their access and permissions in Picktime.
