# How to set up AI Receptionist?

AI receptionist is a virtual front-desk assistant that answers calls, understands customers’ needs, and helps them book, reschedule, or cancel appointments. It can handle multiple calls at once, so callers don’t have to wait, and it guides them through the whole scheduling process in a clear, friendly way. 


**Here’s how you can have your own AI Receptionist**

AI Receptionist is available as an add-on in our Paid Plans. Please check our [**Pricing Page**](https://www.picktime.com/pricing).

1. Open the **AI Receptionist** tab, then click on **Select AI Number** to get your dedicated phone number.

2. You’ll be guided through a setup process to choose your **Area Code** and **State Code**, click on **Search**. Click **Select** next to the number you want.

3. Verify the number and click on **Confirm & Proceed** to get your dedicated AI Receptionist phone number.

4. After the setup is done, you will see the **Available Minutes**, **Call Logs**, and the **Enable AI Receptionist** option. Toggle on **Enable AI Receptionist**.

**Already Have a Business Phone Number?**

If you already have a business phone number, you can still use it with AI Receptionist.

In the AI Receptionist Settings, enable Call Forwarding and forward your business number to your AI Receptionist number.

This way, if you’re unable to answer a call, it will automatically be redirected to your AI Receptionist, who can assist customers and manage bookings for you.
